Default Bayonet for Remington Rolling Block Military Rifle

BTT 4/16/11

PRICE REDUCTION

$99 plus shipping

Gentlemen,

A bayonet for sale.
Does not look to be sharpened in any way and appears to be in excellent shape to my eyes.
Leather is in good shape.
Scabbard (metal) is in good shape with some surface rust.
Wood grips are in great shape.
Button that releases the bayo from the rifle works perfectly.

I say it is what it is due to my research here at the forums. Here is the link to my original forum post with more info and these same pics

Copy of my text: (see link above for replies from others on what it is)

Have a friend's bayonet his father found next to the train tracks not too far from Patton's American training base in the Mojave Desert near the Colorado River.
The dry air has kept it in good shape it seems.
The friend is in his 60's and his father found it when he was a young man.

The blade is 16" long and seems to be blued.
Definately has never been sharpened.
Inside the fuller on the left hand side it reads:
"REMINGTON ARMS-UNION METALLIC CTG. CO. REM. WORKS. ILION. N.Y. U.S.A.

It has a "finial" and a "quillon" and the press stud works very well.

The grips are wood.

I see nothing on the ricasso.

The scabbard is metal.
The belt loop (?) is leather.
No markings noted on it at all.

$150 OBO and I will pay shipping in the CONUS.

First "I'll take it" rules.

E-mail or PM to ask questions or request particular pics.
