I'm into tankers - hence the name - and I keep an eye out for tanker parts. The local (Southern Arizona) gunshows usually have a few barrels for sale. Last ones I saw were $80-$100 (there were both .308 and .30-06), and the guy stuck a cartridge in the end to show me it had plenty of life left. Used, but not wore out. So, I'd keep an eye out at a gunshow.
Plus, you might give Shuff a call. He doesn't make tankers anymore, but, if you sent him a decent barrel, he might cut it down to 18.25" for you. Can't hurt to ask him.

Default Tanker Barrel

Gun Parts Corp is selling them for $215.25! They also have Itailian M1 stocks for $37.00 , half an inch shorter than usgi. Could this be used for a tanker? Has any one made a M1-D tanker sniper????

FYI, I also e-mailed Shuffs. He'll cut down a standard barrel to a tanker. $200 with my barrel, $350 with his barrel.

the guy still has the Tanker kit. He says the barrel is stamped RNP. Anyone know who that is?
