Default Are M1- Carbines Ever Available?

Does the South store ever roll out M1-Carbines? Or are they all gone for real..

Thanks

Carbines? Did someone say carbines? No reports of availability in quite some time. Just a few on auction. Who knows what secrets the CMP may uncover...but they’re not telling!!

I think there was a post a while back by the guy who runs the auctions that they were just about out of them.

Think it has been nearly 5 years since any were offered in the store. Summer of 2015 I think.

Picked one up in May 2017 from the North Store.
I also remember the statement from the CMP auction that they were close to being out any they had would be auction only.....

A couple of years ago they took applications , similar to those for the 1911s, not anywhere near all who wanted them, got them. I know a lot of people who would be very upset if they were selling them in the store before filling those stacks of orders.

Those "stacks of orders" were applications for a lottery of the carbines on-hand at that time. I didn't win one, but while I might dearly wish CMP kept those applications to be filled with future shipments (like the current 1911 pistols), the fact is they never promised any such thing, so I have no expectations of it.

Frankly, I assume they destroyed the unfilled applications. No point in keeping them after the lottery.

I got one from the south store about a year and a half ago. I just asked if they had any. It is a nice national postal meter

I bought two at the North Store in 2017. Got a CMP rebuilt/reparkerized in a CMP stock for $900 and a real nice original finish Quality Hardware in a beautiful Inland marked stock for $800. I thought at the time that the prices of those two should have been the other way around. I recall that the Quality Hardware carbine was hidden in with the field grade Garands and not with the rest of the carbines. I was also lucky enough to get one from the last mail in lottery and I recall the lottery was only for the carbines in stock at that time.
