Shipment info on pistols

Hi,

I just received 939776, Colt Frame and Remington slide. It has a big SA and an ANAD 8 76 on the right side. The barrel is stamped with .45 AUTO over 7791193 over 85 in the ejection port area.

Can you help me with some info?

Hal, your frame was originally shipped to Springfield some time between 5/24/43 and 6/8/43. The SA means it was rebuilt at Springfield Arsenal, most likely right after WWII (probably when it got the RR slide). Then it was rebuilt again at Anniston Army Depot in August 1976, which might be when it got the new barrel.

I can only tell you that it shipped from the factory in December 1944, but don't know where it went.

Serial: 1043657, any information you can provide would be much, much appreciated.

Shipped to Springfield on May 22, 1942.

All I can tell you is the frame shipped from the factory in Swissvale in March 1943. That was technically the 2252nd USS to be made.

Frame shipped to Springfield between February 3, 1943 and February 18, 1943.
