But it's not like napalm in the morning.

If you have round dark spots on the paper you WILL have rust spots on the mag.

The two go hand in hand.

Not possible to have one without the other. The mark on the paper is caused by rust on the mag.

Often the rust is viewable in better lighting.

In the above wrapper pics I see the tell tale rust indication.

The uscarbinecal30 website has a great table on magazines. Looks like Inland subcontracted these (only the 30's) to Seymour Products Co. so that places it around 1944(?). These have been in the paper for 70 years. (I think.)

The paper must have been treated. Anyone know?
Smells to me more like the rifle grease from those one pound cans. If you get into cosmoline you'll know it. Much bigger pain than what's on these mags.

Finally broke down and called. They gave me a tracking #. Ordered the 30th. Scheduled to arrive the 16th. :/ Amazon's shipping speed can spoil a fella.
Anxiously awaiting the purple and orange Santa...

1 mag and 2 Greek bayonets. Trying to be nice. Only have one carbine to feed.
I may not use it. Will make sure it's oiled and wrapped. I have 2 30s that work and a few GI 15s that I prefer anyway

My 3 mags finallllllly arrived. About as perfect as I could hope for. Amazing condition and not a spot of rust or wear. Great deal. Wow.
