Anyone know the production date range on these SEY?

Dates that are SEY hardback specific.

How long were they in production and from when to when?

It must be a very small window?

Assuming April 1945 30 round contracts were issued and it took a little time for SEY to spit them out, so start date could be May 1945 ?????

What about a guess at end date?

Bill Ricca stated:

I have documents from Ordance that show the following:

Contract for 30 round magazines T4 with Inland: August 1944 (Probably the KI hard back)

First delivery of 30 round magazines (Test version): 8,500 in April 1945 (Different than standard versions)

The 30 round magazine was Standardized: Later in the month of April 1945 (Probably April 26, but not confirmed)

T18 Follower Standardized: April 26, 1945 (250 experimental versions were made by Autoyre and tested on the 15 round magazine in late 1944)

Contracts for standard 30 round magazines were released sometime shortly after April 1945.

yes saw that.

Thats why I assume maybe a May 1945 start date for SEY.

But what about end date???

I guess a end date could be determined if you knew the start date of splitbacks???

how many you buy this time?
I have only sold USGI 30's on this forum. They are special so I give CMP members first crack.

Not wanting to be greedy, I only bought two of these Hardbacks, even at that low low price. Besides, I'm sitting on a good dozen w/o the rust-speck freckles, some NIW.

I was really surprised to see these offered up. Somebody found a big stash somewhere since they are pretty hard to find. I won't be surprised to see some of these resold on eBay & GB.

Is this not you? Same screen name and same town.

I dont believe I will part with mine anytime soon, but they could easily fetch $100 on ebay and maybe $60-$80 on GB.

Hell, a commercial non USGI "M2" marked fake sells all the time for $60 on ebay.

My mistake. I forgot I sold some there back in 2012. I was wondering where you got the $100 price you mentioned earlier.

Remembering back, I was annoyed with people who were pawning off aftermarket 30-rounder mags as USGI. Note the primer I paraphrased from the CMP's 30 Round Magazine .pdf in my auction copy. Somebody apparently turned me in to the eBay police shortly after and I was in their dog house for nearly a year. I always wondered if that somebody was selling fake "banana-clips" as authentic USGI and was mad at me for trying to educate the buyers.

DuPage must have found some more... I just placed an order for two and received "processing and in-stock" confirmation.

I guess the only way to trump this, would be finding the big stash of KI/M2 marked hardbacks. I won't wish for that to happen though. The selfish side of me doesn't the ones I hoard to lose value.
