I am a shooter more then collector.

I found the best ejection pattern is with the later flat faced ejectors that have the slight bevel, the later type V or VI slides with the angled cam, and a good USGI recoil spring.

These give a fairly consistent ejection pattern for an M1 carbine with good factory ammunition. Usually about a 1 to 3 o'clock spread. Some close, some further away.
Never a neat little pile.
Don't have anything bounce off my head or down my shirt.

The Garand ejection is a direct result of how the rifle is greased. Properly done it's 7 at 1:00 and 1 at 3-4 O'clock. There were three different carbine shapes which suggests that the shape must have some effect. Beyond that, other factors have an effect on the carbine: power of the round, how well the weapon is lubricated, how the weapon is held, and probably last is the shape of the ejector. I have found that a new recoil spring often cures all function issues, feeding, extraction and ejection.

Is this is the only "problem" you have with your carbine? Not trying to be confrontational, but why is this even an issue? I mean it's functioning and ejecting the shot brass, everything is good. You want it to make a nice neat pile for you also? C'mon.
