Here is the field grade 1911 my son received yesterday, RNG 8556. Needless to say he is pleased.

That's a field grade? Wow, that looks fantastic. I wonder if our pistols came from the same place...I have rack number 21 in the same font and place on mine.

All I can say is WOW! I got a great looking rebuild by Anniston Army Depot that has probably sat in storage since 1976 but you got me beat. Those 1911s are really nice

I am also surprised we are seeing a fair number of 1911’s as opposed to A1’s.
If I ever get the call ( I have a very high #) I hope to get an A1. Had several 1911’s over the years but never an A1 |
