Default M1C Field Grade from South Store

I finally bit the bullet and picked up an M1C from the South Store. I have looked at these for years but never figured I would want the responsibility to get one and then to finding the accessories.
My first trip back to the store for 2019 had me looking at what they had and I picked up this 3.4 mil rifle since it had a pretty decent barrel (ME2+ / TE3) brite shiny bore and real nice crown and staking on the mount screws.
I have this Open Box SA stock that has remnants of an EMcF Cart and reasonably matching handguards that I will leave on the rifle until I find the one I want/need.
I purchased a Replica M1C Mount from Numrich recently (no fitting required which really surprised me). It turned out to be what they said was the last one in stock. Just came in today. If I am fortunate to find the correctly number mount some day, I will exchange them.
I purchased the Lyman Alaskan from Rolling Thunder a few years back so will use it on here till, or if, I find an M82 for it.
I have a Hart Cone-style Flash Hider and a nice GI Cheek Pad but will likely not put either on the rifle. Instead of permanently installed GI Cheek Pad to use when I shoot I have a modern nylon model that can attach temporarily with Velcro and is then easily removed. That way I don't have to have the Open Box, or any other marking, covered up for display

Overall pretty stoked to finally have an M1C. Now to get down to my range to shoot it!

Overall pretty dogone happy,
Rob

If someone could help me post individual pictures to here from Imgur I will but until then this is the only way I know.
Mr Hanky, is this a matching base to the serial of the rifle? This is interesting staking. It looks like the original staking was from a soft receiver that was subsequently restaked like a hard receiver. Just wondering if this might be an example of some SA rework when they were trying to correct accuracy problems. The base would have been from a hardened receiver. The staking of a pin and the other stakings look like maybe they were trying to figure out how they wanted to do it going forward.

Default Sa m1d

Hi folks
Here we have a rack grade m1d, sn 799XXX
Some reason was back ordered and came down from the north store.
I like the arsenal repairs to the wood, shows some character and who knows could have been during the war at that repair station in Italy.
Horrible TE6 but the pointy end aint bad at 3.
Have a question, going from the photos any idea of the origin of this gun?
Greek, turkey, Philippines?

Thanks in advance

First thing I can tell you is that your rifle looks a WHOLE lot better than the Rack Grades that I see in the store.
Hard to tell origin from photos but the finish does not look like the typical Greek refinish that I see.

nice rifle for sure,
Rob

My recent SG from CMP looks to be 1943 w/a 1942 barrel, a USMC Arsenal refit.

Very satisfied!

Thank you CMP

Bear with me, I'm not yet sure what all the indications are on these gems...; I think there is a dark blue "C" on the right side of the stock, just behind the grip; @ one inch in size..it's really tough to see it.
