Well I went to Sportsmans Warehouse today, they had both the LCP and LCPII. Even though the LCP was $70.00 less, I bought the the LCP II, it having a much better trigger and more to hold on to.

I was able to find some ammo, and ran 50 flawless rounds though it at the range. I more or less getto lubed it spraying LCP on the exterior of the barrel and in the rails. The pistol was surprisingly accurate at 10 yards.

I would like to thank you all for providing some input here on your Ruger .380 experiences, it helped me decide. I really feel smarter and safer having a striker fired pistol in my pocket (with a holster), vs. a cocked and locked 1911 type gun.

As for the other Ruger pistols, I had issues with several - called them up, sent them to the factory and they came back perfect. Ruger replaced pretty much all the guts. No problemo since. Try them out (if you still have them).

The LCP seems to not like a weak wrist. Would stove pipe on my wife. I got here an LC9. No issues with the LCP for me.

Hi OP,

The fellows nailed it! I have a LCP it's small & handy runs well! The long heavy trigger is just UGLY!
I bought the extend mag +1- $36 & added finger bases to both standard mags I can now get my pinky on some part of the grip frame.
With the standard mag in place I can get only 1 & HALF FINGERS on the grip.

Just one more good reason why YOU need another gun!

I bought an LCP - for my wife - several years ago, and a spare magazine as well. We ran a few magazines through it for familiarization, no problems. It lived in my pocket for several weeks after Hurricane Harvey, when I was working in a relief warehouse. Never an issue!

Since nobody mentioned it, a company called “Sneaky Pete” has a conceal carry pouch that fits on your belt that secures the LCP nicely. I have yet to have anyone know what it is or even ask me about it when walking out and about. They have both leather and nylon and I believe run around $65 now.

Didn't last long.
Went to range again today to continue breaking in the Ruger LCP II. Right off during firing the magazine detached from the latch after every shot fired.

I corrected the situation using tape on the back of the mag, but then it won't drop free when you need to remove it.

So, back to Ruger.

The only Ruger I have had any success with is my 10 22, which works perfectly.

Thats a bad mag catch spring..they've identified that issue.

Also if your LCP/LCPII is not cycling reliably and doesn't want to chamber some ammothey had a run of guns with tight headspace early 2019 so if thats a problem send it back as well.

Ok spring, I read something about that on the web.

No cycling issues and very accurate.

Maybe the Springfield Armory 911 should be my gun? I will know once I get the LCP back.
The mag fits very loosely in the frame. Also the mag base is not tight on the mag. Not a Ruger fanboy, but this model has decent reviews. And the piece behind the mag attached to the frame is not snug either. I equate that part to a 1911 mainspring housing, so you have an idea what I am speaking about.

It's just Plastic... Hold it like a hammer by the barrel and tap the cover down on the table with a few hard raps... It should seat fully...

If not the little plastic tabs are bad...call CS they will send a new one free.
