Default BOOK SETS for CMP participants

All the sets are sold, and most online sources are out. The new one-volume THE ESSENTIAL M1 GARAND should be out toward the end of 2018 or early in 2019. URGENT: PALADIN PUBLISHING will cease to exist at the end of 2017. My intention is to make a few of the very last printing available to CMP members at the old price.

How long that might be possible, I have no idea.

The letter notes that nothing will ship after November, and I do not yet have a count on how many copies remain.

Was asked a while back, and I guess I can do this.

For CMP members/customers, a pair of my books from Paladin, THE COMPLETE M1 GARAND, and THE CLASSIC M1 GARAND, with signature personalization, $45 delivered. (EDIT: Effective 7/1/2016, that had to increase to $50.00. Publishers increased the price over two years ago, and I finally had to catch up)

Personalization should consist of something simple and rifle-related, with mention of the CMP, such as CMP member number and the serial number of a favorite rifle. Remember, there are TWO books, and thus TWO dedications. However, I can also do the simple, "Best Regards!", with signature, which resellers prefer. That's YOUR choice.

A caution: These are NOT industrial histories. They're for shooters, primarily, include reloading and accuracy prep data, some caveats for shooters and collectors, and some parts insights for restorers, but they are NOT primarily for advanced collectors. That had already been done long before these were even contemplated. Hopefully, though--and that's what "Complete" means in context!--there's something in them for everyone interested in the Garand. The Italian rifles are included, and so is reloading and consumerist information.

I mean to get the latest printing about May 15th in some numbers, with some of the detail data that originally fell "through the cracks" reintegrated. There are some captions finally completed/corrected in the newest printing, too.

Advise, preferably via e-mail, and I'll start reserving and planning.

I bought a set of these from Jim a while back, and these are very "readable" books. I enjoyed them very much, and recommend them to anyone who is interested in not only the bare bones of part numbers and dates, but the history and story of the rifle.

"Life is Good!"

PS - Jim - I know you say they are for shooters, but as a collector and shooter I am glad to have them.

They're a pair of soft cover books. You can look up the physcial description online on any of the big bookseller sites, or from Paladin Publishing.

A new set of books. I really enjoy learning new stuff. This sounds like a great opportunity to increase my library on my favorite subject. Please PM your E-mail address and I will send info.
