Default M1907 Slings Cheap

Not sure if anyone else has seen this yet so I wanted to share for the group. APEX Gun Parts has USGI M1907 leather slings in "fair" condition for $49.

https://www.apexgunparts.com/1907-sl...ther-fair.html

USGI M1907 sling, brown leather with steel or brass hooks, in *Fair* condition.
Sold Individually.
Hardware may be steel or brass, keepers may or may not be present.
Some have the makers markings stamped into the leather.
May show signs of wear, verdigris, grime, water stains, surface rust, cracking etc...

I ordered four of them as a project to see how they turn out.

You risk getting a fatally cracked sling with missing keepers, but probably some gems in there.

I figured the condition could range from awful to decent, probably with lots of cracking. If nothing else if they do come wit keepers I have some old 1907s without keepers. It's like the DuPage handyman, roll the dice and get some gems, and some duds.

I ordered one yesterday. Should be in Friday or Saturday. Better than buying a scratch ticket.

Received a WT&b CO dated 1918 with both keepers and some cracking. Should clean up alright. I will try to get a couple pictures.

Got four in- all in surprisingly great shape. A bit dry, but no cracking. Verdigris on the metal- two of them were brass hooks, two were steel. All four marked WB&T with different inspector numbers under it. No dates. I assume all WW2

Ordered 2 and just received them. Very dirty and well used, but overall not bad for the money. One is W.T&B.CO 1918 and the other is VBMC 1917. Both Brass and doesn't look like anything is missing.

Just have to read up on best way to clean/preserve.

Thanks to the OP for posting this deal.

Received two. G&K 1918 CWA on one, other WB&T CO. with a 10 under it, brass hooks on both. Both had keepers, looks like they were not issued. Leather is still the natural light brown or tan-ish. Very small cracking on a couple of eye let’s. Very pleased.
