Default 05/16/2012 report

Just got home, long drive and I stopped in every other town hitting pawn shops and antique stores. I remembered to bring my camera this time. At 10:30 I counted 44 1917s left. Most looked pretty nice to me, a few said "no headspace" All were Eddystone but one I think. I did see one Winchester, looked rough. Saw two Win-13 Garands for $795. Saw 10 krags for $450 that looked pretty good. One rack of various chromed and painted parade rifles. Saw some chrome 1917's as well. One chrome 1903A3 to the far right. They had 29 Dummy Garands for $350? Can't remember. The barrel was wielded to the receiver and the one I picked up had a rod in the barrel. Saw two Stevens 416 .22 rifles. One rack of 1903 barreled receivers, stripped for $100-$150, most were 1905 or 1910 dated. Most were pretty rough looking except for one that I thought was pretty nice but I didn't feel like buying it and then trying to put it back. I counted 27 M1 Garand barreled receivers with bolts for $350, didn't pay attention to maker, most looked very nice. Noticed a British wooden crate behind the counter marked .303. It was full of M1 Carbine dummy ammo. Leon said it was .25 a round, or $12.50 a box. Odd maker but it did look to be US. I didn't open one as the box had a paper label wrapped around it. Still had bayonets and rusty carbine mags. Guess that's about it.

I was there on 5/19/2012 and saw about the same thing as chollybob is reporting for 5/16. At 8:00 a.m. there were five WIN-13 in the rack, all with new wood, and there were no FG or RG WRA. Found an 11/43 FG SA with a 1/44 barrel with ME/TE of 2/4 (or maybe vice versa). Also saw a FG SA with EMcF stock. Lots of SG SA and FG SA.
