SA means it is a Springfield Armory Barrel, probably a replacement. Fired several M2s 20+ years ago, when I was on a PD in Washington State. Very sweet, and accurate if you maintain fire discipline of 3-4 shot bursts. With M2 mag catch, round bolts (more mass), good GI mags (with good springs in them facing the right way) and a good recoil spring, they were very reliable. I am jealous. When I retire in about 4-5 years and move to Oregon, an M2 is on my "things to get" list!

I am one lucky Pop, my Son just gave me this S.G. s/n 352XXXX for my 65th Birthday. Isn't it great to have a Son that has a heart this big?

Default My finished BR!

Here is a BR I just finished, an Inland 5.4 with an 8-44 Inland Barrel. Was not sure if it was going to happen at first, since the tag had the dreaded "H.S." on it, but it headspaced fine with my go/no-go gauges and spare bolt I had. Recieved the final parts I needed from Mozzer, so here she is. I now have two each of M1 Garands and Carbines, all WWII dated. Was great fun putting together a rifle from parts, getting a piece here and there. All in all I have about $400.00 into the rifle, I am happy with the build.

Going to shoot it this week, range report forthcoming!
