I agree. I've been to the NS (5) times in the past 2 years. I've been to the SS (6) times. I'd take the SS counter guys a hundred times more than the NS. I figure it's just that damn yankee know-it-all attitude up there. It's like they're doing you a favor. And BTW, I've been there during the Matches twice, the other (3) times were "off" season, with no "special" run on merchandise. To the contrary, I was at the SS during the October Bolt Rifle sale- and they were still pleasant and helpful with 96 patrons packed in the store.

Now, that said, the ladies in the North Store and CMP office are absolute sweethearts. Every one I've ever met have a genuine concern about CMP customers and competitors.

I was there 2 months ago. One of the guys was grumpy, the other very friendly. The grumpy guy corrected my pronunciation of Garand, "We don't have Gore-Ronds. We have Gair-Rinds." I chuckled

I've been to the North Store 3 times and the south store once.
My experience with the North Store has been very consistent.
Same two guys same crappy attitude.
South Store? Only the volunteer Mike was there and he was fantastic.
I'm a Texan and I expect friendly service, not snotty, I could give a flying crap, attitudes.
The girls that handled my order were great.

Same deal today when we went in. A bunch of us NC rednecks stopped in, bare shelves except for some overpriced junk (literally), the Cs and the D (some of those were nice). The same gent behind the counter did a good job of being rude to pretty much every one of us. I run my own biz and if ANY of my staff treated a customer like that I would fire them on the spot. He was even rude to two of our jrs. Unreal.

I don't need my garand presented to me on a lace dolly, the North Store guys just shoot straight(I'm from Phila, attitude+). I found if, you ask them a question they will shoot straight. After 8+ trips I am happy but, I won't be making another this summer due to the purchase limits.

Just for the record, my experience in the NS/SS scene is opposite the ( ?). Maybe they oughta put out some cheese at the NS...

Frankly it is grumpy-old-man-itis. Caused by a reduced testosterone level as men age.

I cannot comment on the south store but my trip with my Marine dad to the NS was exceptional, Bob in particular. I have no issues.
