Default Unissued Stock Question

Hello,

I have the opportunity to buy the C stock pictured below. It is a Milton Bradley manufactured stock and I was curious about the wood towards the rear of the stock. I think it looks gorgeous and looks like natural tiger stripping to me. However, I think maybe it could also be water staining. Can any experts comment on this to let me know if this is natural or damaged?

Thanks.

Looks like stains to me, probably will sand out, and be covered by your new finish!

10-4, guys asking $475 for it, so I may pass knowing it needs work and unsure how it would turn out. Thanks for the advice

The figuring looks like tiger striping to me. I note that the grain in the stock is not straight, which suggests that legitimate tiger striping could be present. And the tiger striping is present on both sides of the stock, which suggests that it's authentic.

That's my opinion. Take it for what it's worth.

I agree with JB . . . .looks natural to me.

Why do you think it’s a Milton Bradley?

The seller told me so. I have no other reason to think one way or the other on it

Curious, would you be using this stock for your 03A4 build?

Looks great to me. Oil will pop that grain beautifully.
