Remington 1903-A3

I just picked up a Remington 1903A3 from am Auction. SN 3600627(May 1943 ref remingtonsociety.org) with a barrel that has a "RA" stamp dated 3-43 with a flaming cannonball stamp and a P stamped on the under side. The barrel chamber looked pristine with all the rifling intacted and in good condition.

The Stock has a upside down K in the Magazine On Off switch recess. This is all I can see on the stock so far.

The Bolt has a R with a circle around it on the extractor on the Bolt. On the under side of the Bolt lever it has what appears to be a very small stamp of the letters "CC" possibly I can't really tell. There is also the number "4" stamped on the extractor arm that runs along side the bolt.

The Trigger and Magazine assembly is stamped with one spot weld on the trigger guard.(The weld looks like a factory spot weld)

The barrel and receiver are both parkerized and in very good condition.

The front site blade looks like a high one with the letter "A" stamped on the right side.

I just shot it for the first time tonight and it cycled and shot well and the bolt that was very smooth.

Any help in identifying other parts or any information on what I have provided would be appreciated.

The stock was one of those made by Keystone and is a replacement. Is it a Type C or Scant?

The stock is a scant stock, as depicted in the last picture.

From what I can see, your rifle appears to have some originality. The barrel and receiver are probably an original combination. As Rick pointed out, the stock is a Keystone replacement. I am unable to conclusively identify the bolt, other than to note that the bolt has been refinished, i.e., parkerized. The bolt appears to be a Smith-Corona bolt, but the encircled "R" on the extractor collar indicates a Remington bolt, unless the collar has been replaced. The "CC" underneath the handle might be a poorly-stamped "8" perhaps. The "4" on the extractor is correct for Remington.

Thanks for the replies so far. Yes I do believe it is a Scant stock. @J.B. what would make it a Smith_Corona bolt? I will look for any other markings and see if I see anything, if so I will post more pics. Not sure why others cannot see the links but links to photo bucket were included in the original post.

Smith-Corona bolts are marked with a "1", "2", or "8" beneath the handle.

Remington M'03-A3 bolt bodies didn't change much over M'03-A3 production. Some marking and marking die changes occurred. But the handle design didn't change.
