Did any one else get an Italian magazine?

Dad got one with his museum crate 1911. Worked fine. Gun ran great with it, cheap aftermarket, and USGI mags. Ran a box of Blazer and Winchester white box with no issues.

MecGar generally exceed originals in performance and durability.

I did. MecGar makes an excellent magazine so no worries there.

I have a bunch of 1911 magazines including some new in the wrap that the CMP sold a few years ago.

I did as well. In a conversation with CMP staff they said some guns operated better with these. I think I know why. After 2 months of chasing a first round FTF issue on my pistol, I tried several top end mags and replaced springs, I was about to decide to polish my feed ramp. As a last ditch effort I installed an EGW magazine catch with a slightly higher catch shelf to hold the magazines higher in the frame. Guess what, all those mags now feed flawlessly but the MecGar mag does not want to catch. I "think" the MecGar magazines have a slightly lower catch slot so it sits a little higher in the frame with the stock catch. This could be the reason those mags work better on guns that the stock mags do not feed well. There is more than one way to skin a cat or so they say.

Spend 30 bucks and buy one Wilson 7 Rd Mag,not the 8 Rd one as they are not always
100 percent. If you ever have feed problems you will know it is the gun.
