Default The Marine is Clean

This rifle was sold in the South store as a Field Grade back in August. It has a 6-53 barrel that gauges 1.0 and some interesting cartouches. It has a Augusta AAX, a small OC cartouche on the grip end and a serif P on the grip. The stock is nice and the rifle is a complete mixmaster with a Winchester op rod and hammer.

Looks great to me, especially the muzzle reading. Tell us how it shoots. Thanks for sharing.

Default gotta love these Marine Corps Rebuilds

Nice looking rifle for sure and a nice job with the photos.
The '53 barrel is pretty common for a Marine Corps Rebuilds. It appears they were generally provided with only late 40's and early 50s replacement barrels.

great rifle for sure,
Rob

Oh, I added it to my list of Marine Corps Rebuilds, so thanks for submitting!

I wonder why the Marines didn't sand all the cartouches off?

Because that is not the stock placed on the rifle at the time of Marine rebuild...otherwise, they would have.

So it was possibly changed out in the Philippines? Actually it could have been changed out by anyone prior to the CMP receiving it.
