M1 Carbine early Winchester barrel questions

I have a opportunity to buy a early Winchester barrel that is advertised as NOS...My first question is if this is genuinely NOS will the barrel gauge 0 with a muzzle gauge? What would the original finish look like...bluish/ greenish/ greyish?...should the finish cover the threads? should it be dated? I think it's a late 1942 barrel..Will it have the punch mark for the piston nut retainer or should it come with the piston & nut already installed & punch marked? Or should it not have any punch mark indicating a piston & retaining nut have been installed? Any and all help appreciated.

should it muzzle .3000? does .3005 indicate used?

Any NOS bore gaging 0.300"-.302" in diameter was acceptable to the inspectors. That was the manucturing tolerance specified.

I believe the really early WRA barrels are 180degrees out compared to later barrels. I know someone that tried to put an early barrel on a 6 mil. and it was 180 out from indexing. Took forever to figure out what was wrong. A member of the furum solved it for him.
