Another set of quality vids. On the rear sight removal practice I use an expired drivers license or an Autozone/grocery store value points/rewards card instead of painters tape. You're going to destroy it in the process so use one you don't need for other purposes. When I install, I back off the screw and then increase pressure over and over so it doesn't bind. It allows the sight to settle instead of pushing against the bottom of the dovetail. Stamped sight installs always bind upwards in a pronounced manner, so backing the screw off and then tightening back and forth is crucial.

OC, good idea using the expired cars instead of the tape.
GIVE ME SOME NEW IDEAS FOR THE NEXT SET IF VIDEOS.

Thanks Coastie. I have an other one but I need to reshoot it. It will be what to look for at a gun show/shop. Thanks.

Rob-
These are really helpful! I know I can download, convert and burn a DVD of them but have you ever thought of making and selling (modest pricing, please!) such a DVD? And perhaps another on the Garand? Could cover other subjects, too, like IDing, dating, etc. |

Myturn,
No I have thought of that. I guess a lot more people might use a DVD format versus use the web (youtube videos or this forum). If I did make one I would sell it at cost. I believe the information is valuable to others and from a sellers stand point I rather have an educated buyer and collector than an uneducated one. We need to be good caregivers to these rifles to preserve them and educate the young (and ignorant) about the times these rifles existed. Thanks, Rob
