If Jolly Roger is closed, and you were really hoping for a perch or walleye dinner, go to McCarthy's. We've had their fish there on more than a few occasions, and it's a very close second to Jolly's. And it's not a small serving portion, either!

The Wharf is pretty classy. Take a left on LakeShore and its in the right in a couple miles.

The casket out back is a little weird though.

Just thought of another decent place in Sandusky. The Sandusky Fish Company is right on the waterfront in the downtown area. Its only take out but there are tables outside where you can sit right next to the bay.
Also for those coming through the east side suburbs of Cleveland on rt2/90 there is a nice local place called Christys on East 200th in Euclid. Its a mile straight north from the freeway and has a wonderful friday fish fry.
Good eating and GO BUCKS!

I just called Jolly Rogers and they are open!!! They just opened this past Monday Feb. 20. The said they typically close right after Thanksgiving.

Thanks for that info. I was going to call before we left just to make sure since I wasn't certain that the info I found online was up to date.

My wife and I had a great dinner at the Garden Restaurant in Port Clinton. Fried walleye I believe is what we had.

Unfortunately, if your talking about The Garden at the Lighthouse, last I knew they were closed, due to a fire and, unlikely to reopen. The food was outstanding.
The perch and walleye are very good at the Jolly Roger, as are the fried oysters.
