Anyone have any idea if this was done professionally. Just picked it up today, Underwood receiver and IBM barrel. Besides being extremely ugly its in great shape.

Haven't been here in a while... Looks like the pics I shared back in 2008 are gone now.

I don't think I posted this.

1943 Inland. Sold to me as an M1A1 but of course no provenance. Close in s/n to the Batte M1A1 though. Since it is a s/n restamp ahead of the rear sight, I made it to be representative of a rebuild from just after WWII. Good shooter with the M2 stock I have, only fair with this prettier one.

My Service grade Quality Hardware with original Rock-Ola barrel and Quality bolt. Last serial number block, 4702198. It was in a brand new FAT 77 birch M2 stock, but put it in a correct Quality Hardware stock. ME was between 1 and 2, and metal finish about 90%. Bore crisp and shoots like a champ.

My wife was born in June 1942 - her dad was in the Philippines at the time with the Navy CB's.

I went looking for an M1 made that month - First month of manufacture for the Carbine. I found one with serial # 11XXX and grabbed it. She has it on display above the fire place;

In memory of her father.
