Default Modern Military match.

Shooting the modern military match for the first time. Does anyone know what time this match starts?

I am curious about the match...can anyone verify....... is it the standard 30-shot CMP Games Match, shot at 200 yards??? And is the AR (scoped or irons) the approved rifle?

thanks

35 with sighters, JCG "A" Course, 200 yards, 4x scope or irons. Check "Games" 2017 rulebook for more. Weight limit on rifle, unlike Service Rifle.

Thanks for the info. I could not find it in the rule book the first time I looked. I see it now and note the 8.5# weight limit.

I saw someone shoot this with an HBAR this year. They basically stripped everything off the rifle, including the forward assist and shell deflector, mounted a light scope, and were able to make weight. They shot very very well!

Excerpt from the rules:

c) No special accurizing is permitted except that a non-adjustable sling swivel may be attached to the forward end of the handguard.

What is considered "special accurizing" as per the rule?

So a fellow shooter relayed to me that his MM entry did not pass muster at inspection and the inspector's rule interpretation was in direct conflict with information relayed in one of those super secret emails from the rules committee.

So 6 one way, half dozen the other... email says floating and 2 stage triggers GTG, trigger weigher says no.

This is at Creedmoor East BTW.

I was going to build an upper for Perry MM match, just strip the lead from one of my NM lowers, slap an M4 upper and my Vortex on and have fun. Until the rules are clarified in print I will not be wasting my time and money.
