Default WTS Remington 1903A4

PRICE REDUCED NOW TO $2950

M1903A4, Remington Arms Co. s/n 3423763 most likely manufactured in Nov 1943. The rifle was rebuilt and re-Parkerized and has a uniform grey Parkerized finish throughout. Two horizontal screw holes look to have been filled and refinished at the right rear side of the receiver. These were most likely to mount a Lyman 48 or other similar sight. Overall, the rifle is in very good condition. The RA 8-43 barrel has a nice shiny bore. Redfield scope mount is of Parkerized finish as are the scope rings. The scope is a Weaver M73B1 with clear optics and cross-wire reticle with s/n 20319. The Stock is a replacement and is refinished but the FJA, RA, and ordnance cartouches are present

The price is $2950 OBO (plus shipping & FFL fee) Must have FFL or C&R license.

Here are the pics:

I have owned this rifle for 15 or 20 years and truthfully do not buy and sell prolifically. Any input on my description is welcomed.

Thanks

Can't see the pics at work. Do the screw holes on the side of the receiver imply that it was sporterized to use Lyman-type sights at one point?

That's what I thought. Two horizontal holes on the right side that have been filled in....looks like a nice job.

Blockhead and Shomway, yes, I think it had some other type of scope mount on it at one time. This is exactly how it came to me.

Is that stock originally for a 1903a4? The bolt cutout doesn’t look right

I cannot really say, but arenít 03A4 stocks the same as those for the 03A3? I do see that the bolt cutout is not a sharp edged deep groove like often seen in pics though.

That's not a A4 stock... looks like a A3 cut for the bolt. I'll see if I can find my A4 and post a pic of the cut out. (it's distinct)

Here's the link - crappy pic (sorry!) https://imgur.com/a/ZO7lJo7

This stock was cut for a vernier sight, I picked it up with another C stock. I plan on doing a "arsenal repair" to it sometime to add to an A4 clone project.
