Default M1 Garand Scabbard

I have a 16 bayonet with a 16 scabbard. At the tip of the scabbard the leather was marked with a BB. Is this a repo (other one in the photo I believe is a repo), if not what does BB mean? Its splitting at the tip and it appears to be made out of wood covered in fabric.

Thanks

I think I found a little more information..

I believe its a M1910 scabbard with a canvas cover manufactured by Brauer Brothers in St. Louis. Which would fit a M1905 Bayonet that would attach to a 1903 rifle... yes/no?

Is this cover original to the scabbard?

If anyone could add on or correct any of this it would be appreciated.

I checked Gary Cunningham's book and it makes no mention of "BB" marked scabbards. It could be an inspector's mark. I'll keep researching. The scabbard looks legit though.
