Default 1911 hopefully soon, ? finishes

My number is coming up, hopefully before Christmas, 18,349. I will probably opt for a field grade. I have a question about the refinished pistols that pics have shown as a light grey park. The roll stamps of manufacturer, US prop. and serial number on most of those seem to be sanded before park. Is that the case or has the new park just filled in the letters?
I am going for a field grade after seeing a friends with a somewhat worn, older finish but with crisp markings. That is just the pistol I would love to get.
What say ye fellows.

Just based on what I've seen and what I received it seems like your chance at original finish is roughly the same regardless of which grade you pick. I would actually love a sticky poll on this. My rack was original finish and so are a lot of the recent field grades but a month ago the service grades were the ones showing nearly new original finish. Seems as though there are more showing original finish now than when the ordering process began too. I think you're not going to go wrong regardless of what you choose and what you receive. The day it arrives it's already worth more than you paid regardless of 100% original or mix master/not matching if recent GunBroker prices are any indication.

Default Agreed

I had noticed the same on recent service grades, more seemed not refinished.

Mine was a Service Grade and it has a dark Park. They didn't hit it hard with the grit so you can still make out the acceptance stamp and the lettering itself is crisp. And it has no arsenal marks. I couldn't be happier with the Remington Rand I got.
