Default YouTube Video: John C. Garand

I found this short YouTube video of John C. Garand discussing the development of weapons at the Springfield Armory. Seems like a very humble man.

Thanks for the link. Without ol' John C., think of all the fun we'd NOT be having today.

Seriously, he was a righteous dude, and his genius and dedication saved the free world.

Found this old pic of JCG, armed with a gas trap M1, doing some room-clearing exercises. Thinking it's from the late '40s, so maybe he was just honing the skill-set in anticipation of having to do it against Commie hordes ...

Pretty cool video. His accent is a lot thicker than I thought it would have been.

Played the video for my nephew a while ago. He watched John C. talk for about 2 minutes, then said:

"Did this guy play Count Dracula in those old horror movies?"

I'm sure many have watched the follow-up video, "Commence Firing - The Big Picture", from which the JCG snipit was taken (or included in). Commence Firing has some neat manufacturing processes filmed; have a look!
