Default Mossberg Sling Question

What sling would you suggest be used on a Mossberg US44?

The slings for the M1 rifle are too wide.

I tried to cram the sling through the swivels but it didn't fit. I wonder whether my swivels are GI.

I will measure tomorrow. If the swivels aren't wide enough, I suppose I will start searching for replacement swivels.

Thanks for the help guys! I would have expected to be able to use the sling for the M1 because to use something else would undermine the purpose of a ... training rifle.

Best!

I just received a copy of The History of Mossberg and on page 112 it shows a bunch of Squids ( I can say that because I was one ) practicing with Mossbergs the rifle have web slings on them.

Are you trying to pass the end of the web sling thru the front swivel, or use the metal hook on the web sling in the front swivel?

Correct orientation would be to pass the end of the web thru the front swivel, then pass it under the keeper and lock it down. Then the other end forms a loop that goes around your upper arm.

I would expect that the metal clip of the sling would be a bit difficult to attach to the front sling swivel.
