Default IHC trigger housing help

Hello,

I don't know IHC very well.

I have a 50011xx IHC rifle and a gap letter 4.6 IHC rifle.

I have three trigger housings.

IHC D6528290
6528290IHC with faint H below
6528290IHC with faint K below

Do any of these match each other? Reading my Duff book and getting confused. If I read correctly I think the top trigger housing listed is correct for the 4.6 Gap.

What are the details on the H and K stamps?

Thank you,

Tom

The IHC D6528290 is fine for your 4.6 million gap letter.
What is the barrel date on your 5.00 million IHC? I think both of the other trigger housings with the late drawing number and the heat lot code are likely too late for your 5.00 million IHC.

Barrel date is 6/53. It does have the punch mark. Barrel date seemed a little off but I had read that IHC barrels could be a little all over on dates so I'm not sure.

With a barrel date of 6/53 for that 5.00 million IHC, I would also go with a IHC D6528290 trigger housing on this IHC as well as your 4.6 million gap letter.

What source do you base that on?

Here's an older thread where Wayne Bradford/ihcfan55 listed a data sheet for 500xxxx IHC.

Thanks! Mine is less than 700 from their examples so that helps me a lot. Funny though, the barrels are a year apart.

From all that I've read about IHCs, the stocks, drawing numbers and barrel dates can be all over the place. Seems like a box of parts was a box of parts without any consideration to using the oldest first.

Considering the production issues that they had it’s no surprise, but my IHC is my favorite out of them all.

My IHC is my favorite too--but then I only have one M1 Garand.
