That helps but the pouch is still loose enough to slide clear over the sling well.

The sling will keep the pouch from sliding off the rear of the stock.

Here is ATF's response:

We purposely made these bigger than originals because people constantly complain about the regular ones (which are the same as originals but of course they vary a little)being too tight even though those weren't designed to go over the stock. So we added about 3/8". We do test them on an original stock- repro stocks have proven problematic for oilers/ slings slots and occasionally pouches as their dimensions are rather "flexible". They won't shrink. The only way to tighten is would be to tighten the seam slightly but a home sewing machine would struggle with the fabric. If it's not workable just send it back.**

Thank you,

Now that I'm reading this it sounds like they may be telling me the "snapless" model is made slightly oversized but the "regular" ones are the same as the originals. Maybe they accidentally mixed an oversized snapless one in and put a snap on it.

Edit again: I just got off the phone with Gina. Both pouches are made the same. The snap is the only difference. Super nice lady, by the way.

Here's what's different between a tighter GI pouch and the ATF pouch. It is the distance between the two rows of stitches at the top.

I have to say my initial disappointment with the pouch has given me a favorable view of the company.

Gina has gone out of her way to measure a number of different pouches and is going to send me a couple different ones to try for fit. Whichever fits best will be kept. The others will be returned.

They are great people to work with. I screwed up rivets installing a new suspension in a M1 helmet liner, contacted Gina and had some more added at a small cost added to my next order.

I just ordered two of the carbine sets with the mag holder, muzzle cover and sling with oiler, had to call so they would give me the mag holder without the stud.

Two additional pouches received. One green and khaki transition pouch and one imported JQMD pouch.

My original pouch is the middle.

The fit of the transition pouch

The fit of the import pouch

The US pouches are nicer quality but I'll keep the import pouch based on fit.
