FWIW:
When I've emailed them I've gotten an answer in about a week.
Check your spam/junk email box etc.
Otherwise, be prepared for what ever they say if you just show up and hand it to them.

Sir:
They generally don't answer questions like that here.
Email them and you will get a direct answer from them.
Give it about a week or so and then post what they said.

"...…..Did you email competitions@thecmp.org? They will be able to answer your rules question.
Christine …………"

Sir:
I'm not sure why you didn't get a direct answer from them.
So I emailed them on Oct 16th with the following question:

".....This question was posted on the CMP forum and I was curious to know the answer......
...Is an M1A with a USGI M14 E2 stock with no bedding and standard sights legal for the Modern Military match in the upcoming Talladega 600 Matches? "
And I would assume it depends on the weight as to which class it would be in?
Thank You ……"

On November 7th (so just after 3 weeks) I received the following reply:

"...….You are correct. The rifle would need to weigh around 9lbs.
Kind Regards,

Sara Rozanski
srozanski@thecmp.org......"

So there you go.
That was their reply to me and I hope it helps!

PS:
Just my 2% here...… if it makes weight (which most do not think it will) after you check it at home, bring a copy of this thread with you and enjoy the matches!
The TMP is Sara's home range (well what I mean is she seems to work there on a daily basis) and so if there are any issues you can talk to her directly.
If it doesn't make weight, you'll be in the unlimited class against the fully match conditioned rifles.

Sara works in Ohio. She's been gone from TMP for about a year now. She does come down for the bigger matches though.

Ok, then!
I was last there about a year ago, so no worries!
And its never been my day to watch her and keep up with her schedule.

She's a very good shooter, watched her stumble once at 300yds, then shot a good score at 600.

I've weighed the weapon. I also removed the front grip and with that gone she comes in at a hair under 9 lb 2 oz
