Default If you don't make the Carbine cut, what are your next steps?

So you come to terms that you were part of the 60%.

What will you do?

* Convert your order to a SG or FG M1 Garand?
* Do nothing?
* Scratch that itch via a private sale?

Personally, I have a couple carbines and would most likely re-direct the funds into a nice Remington M1903 example.

Already have two M1 rifles in the house. I'll wait to get my first CMP M1 carbine. If they never come back I could see getting an Auto Ord one eventually, but relly want a CMP one.

Kinda wish the CMP would give preference to orders from members who haven't bought a carbine from the CMP.

Well if you're in for an 03 - there was a post recently where someone mentioned they heard that the 03 may be the next big release. I wish I could find the thread, but it was written on one of these discussing the carbines...I would personally let my order go for another FG Garand.

Then you would be anguishing over my grandparents, parents, in-laws, wife, sons and daughters each ordering one.

I think it's way too early to worry about not making it. I could easily see the CMP trickling out carbines to those on a back order list if they wish to remain there, which I would. I'm glad they don't have any more preference than they already do. I've never purchased a CMP carbine, but I do already own two and my dad has one. So should I give up my order to someone who has none? No, this is America you pay your money you take your chances and don't worry about the Joneses.
