Do I have any issues if I want to buy some of this ammo even though I don't own a Krag?

"well, if DO I get one, it might be hard to get ammo for it at the time..."

That is how I bought a couple of my guns. Decided what I wanted and bought the ammo first. Figured I could wait for the right revolver to come along. .45 auto rim is one example. Of course this was in the early part of the dark times of 2008 and 2009 through 2016.

Buy a case or two, preferby two, if you are buying for the Krag. Remington and Winchester have made a run this year and the market is flush with the good stuff. It could be a few years before they produce another run. A case is ten boxes of twenty cartridges.

I lean towards winchester brass so I have two cases hanging back for when my remington brass wears out and is thrown in the scrap bucket.

Given the cost of Krag ammo, $35-$40 / box for Winchester or Remington, you'll come out way ahead buying a cheap Lee Press Kit and the 30-40 dies to roll your own. Get a bag or 2 of Graf and Sons brass, a 1 lb jug of IMR 4350 and some RN 220 grain Hornady bullets and go to work. If your're going to shoot Krags regularly then the reloading set up will pay for itself rapidly.

Good advice.

I have 4 Krags and use AA4350 with Hornady 180 Gr. RN. Lighter bullets will also work fine.

I purchased 100 new WW cases and had neck splits on the second loading. Annealing the necks cured that. 303 British cases can be reformed to 30/40. I tried reforming 20 and they work well in the two rifles I tested them in.
