At minimum, I would break down and examine the propellant & cases of a few rounds if possible...True story..I was given some old Click-Bang Pakistani 303 British that when broken down, actually had sand and what looked like small pebbles/dirt mixed in the propellant...Quality control guy must have been off that day..
Be careful.

Can honestly say i've never even heard of Ethiopian ammo, however it could of been made by other countries for them like the "greek" bayonets or whatnot. I'd buy some and tear it down to inspect.

Ethiopian Empire: Received 20,700 M1 rifles from the U.S. government in the 1960s

Maybe these will come home.

This is the site and for $100 plus about $15 for shipping, that is pretty cheap:

Berdan primed, I would assume it is corrosive, unless proven otherwise.

After everyone stops laughing, try reading some of SLA Marshall's accounts of Ethiopian soldiers in Korea. He only said that they were the best troops he'd ever seen. Experts in use of arty, brave, well led, great drinkers, used American weapons, did I say fearless? I would imagine that this ammunition may have been manufactured outside of the country?

I am reminded of the saying " If you wouldn't drink the water there, don't shoot the ammo".
Leave Ethiopian bullets to the Ethiopians.
