How about the possibility that CMP1911 received the second batch of 8000 pistols, didn't officially announce it and are just going to continue to call folks up until the full list of 18,000 is exhausted,

Quite frankly, "IF" CMP is doing this, i don't blame them...... considering all the B.S. they deal with and the politics involved, it might be easier to avoid any high profile announcements...... i work for the government in a law enforcement department and we intentionally keep a low profile....... anytime we are in the news, its never a good thing!!!

Me either. After seeing some of the whining from grown men over the last year or so, I wouldn't blame the CMP one bit for just bringing in the second shipment (if they got one) and just moving things along quietly to avoid a flurry or emails and repetitive posts and the beating of a herd of horses long since dead.

I certainly hope they get a full 10k for the second batch and not simply 8k again.

Announcing the receipt of a second batch is truly not harming things. If anything it would be CMP keeping their word that they said they would do so.

"OPSEC"---In my couple of decades in the service, it was called OPSEC (Operational Security). Don't talk about your situation or position, or give away any info that might give insights or useful info to your adversaries. I think CMP should be big on OPSEC regarding any M1911 releases.

I can quote what COO Mark Johnson stated when addressing the GCA Convention members at the Springfield Armory National Historic Site last month. When asked about the CMP1911 allocations he said "that if your RGN is below 16K then you are looking really good. Really good!"

While he would neither confirm nor deny that the second allocation had indeed arrived, I myself and many others in attendance fully understood what he was saying. Anotherwards 8K + 8K = 16K and a lot more happy folks.

Hearsay or speculation? Time will tell pretty soon I suppose, but I can report that I am one of those happy folks as of today. My 9894 # got the call and shipped as well today.

Grateful to have been part of the CMP1911 program and thankful to all the CMP Employees who have made it happen. It's been Fun!
