I always enjoy reading about people's ammo / gun scores. Finally had one fall my way. Three 400 round cans of Lake City M2 Ball for $150 a can. The can I opened has '66 head stamps and looks pristine. Maybe not the best price ever (nothing like dnmccoy's 30 carbine score) but for a guy who got in the game late and only bought 1 can of HXP before the CMP sold out, I'm happy.

Nice score! I believe I read that at this weeks Western Games CMP was selling 200 rds loose HXP for $140. Now consider what you got for $150.....
![]() I hope you bought all three cans.....

In my excitement I might have tipped my hand when I sent him a message.
"Still have the LC 30-06? I will take it all." By the time I picked up the ammo less than an hour later he said he had two more messages asking for all of it. He knew what he had, just wanted it gone. Sold 7 other cases to friends and family first and I got the last 3. I did not realize the boxed ammo was more valuable than loose. I was looking though the sales forum history and having a hard time finding a recent example of the same stuff even listed. |

A few months ago I picked up 1800 South African 5.56 for $150. Which is 12.3 cents per round Pristine condition. Have fired a 100 or do. Brass also reloads fine. Seem link USGI Ball. Runs fine in my FN 249S
