Don't forget the USAF museum in Dayton. Admission and parking is free! It would be very easy to spend a full day there.

If an HRA Service Grade Special will meet your Appleseed needs (and why would it not?), it's a worthwhile trip. I'd also be tempted with side trips to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, both not too far out of your way.

I live in Port Clinton and it's not too exciting now at the North Store. If your plans are picking up a HRA SGS ($950) or two then it might be worth your while. They currently have 2 racks of SA & HRA Field Grades @ $525ea. TE & MZ are 3 or higher on most as of yesterday. M1C & M1D's. Plus 3 racks of drill rifles. No Service Grades on display. Still plenty of HXP ammp, enblocs, bayonets, spare parts and other ammo. The guys at the counter are always good for a short chat and very helpful. I'd call first if I had anything "must have" category before I'd venture 14hrs. Hope this helps.

I drive up there every July/August during the matches (I live near Annapolis MD) and always leave with at least one M1 Garand, sometimes two or three. Have never been disappointed. Great to watch the matches too.

2KOgt, how far to SS from where you are in Va? Weather might be nicer.

I've done it several times from Reading, PA to the North Store. 7.5 hours with food and gas stops.
Leave Thurs 3am, get to store around 11, shop the rest of the day, grab a hotel room for the nite, leave a 3am Fri, back home by noon.
Well worth the trip. Do call befoe you leave, they'll be honest with what's there.
And check weather before you leave.

I take it you are looking at the Black Creek Event. I am next to Quantico, are you local?
I am near Quantico as well, Independent Hill / Woodbridge

Have you contacted Customer Service yet to confirm that the "switch" never went through? If you haven't yet, Email them, rather than call, and explain the situation and if they can be of help. CMP customer service is the best!

The trip to the NS is something you should experience and you get a chance to see Camp Perry while you are there. Currently the selection in the store is hit or miss and the only sure thing would be a HRA Service Grade Special @ $950+tax or shipping.
