Default New-to-A3 Questions

Got my first A3, and have some new guy Qs. Yes, should have done my research first, but this was a really nice looking piece that I found by "accident" on a road trip.
(1) Were all A3s parked from the beginning?
(2) If generally parked, were there some blued parts?
(3) Did all A3s have stamped & checkered butt plates?

And, yes, I am going to get a couple of the classic reference books, but these Qs are bugging me now.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

All Remington A3's originally came with a collections of both blued and parked metal parts. In general, the receiver, barrel, and safety tab were parkerized. The bolt, magazine cutoff, and other smaller parts were blued.

I have a couple of A3's which I believe to be in original factory condition. Here's one of them...

You can see the different parts and their different finishes. I believe the "OG" stamp indicates an inspection at Ogden and not a refurbishment.

Thanks Calfed,
Yes, this is a Remington, and has the blued parts you mention, plus both sling swivels. How about the butt plate? This one has milled.

Should be stamped with a cross hatch pattern and blued finish. Picture above shows the original butt plate, but is not very clear.

Thanks Calfed,
Beautiful rifles. Mine is not at my present location, but I think the bolt is also parked--not blue like yours. I definitively have a smooth milled butt plate. Gotta work on those items.
Yes, OG is Ogden. I have 03 stocks marked OG and OGEK.

Nearly all of these rifles went through the typical arsenal refurb so it is common to have a mix of parts finishes.

If the parts finish is uniform, that is a sure sign that an A3 has been through a refurbish
