Looks like a major score from here. Colt/Colt and what appears to be non-A1 overall.

i racked the slide and the firing pin stop hit the floor. ffl denies messing w gun. a call to mike at cmp confirmed what i thought. someone at the ffl disassembled the gun for some reason. mabey someone needed a firing pin....
once i get it in 4-6weeks it will be going back to cmp for inspection. more waiting. good luck with yours
That's messed up. Sounds like a crook of an FFL.

Looks decent. I've seen your posting of this pistol on three other threads and all are only this one picture. Anymore pics that you can share? Any details on the internal/external parts? Feedback is kinda tough with just one pic and no other info.

i know it's probably trivial, but i was initially a bit bummed at the difference in finish of the slide and frame. Thankful it is Colt slide and frame. I think the frame is M1911 and the slide 1911A1, I am far from an expert though.

TSpot, why not save yourself the time and effort of returning the pistol and replace both the recoil and firing pin springs? I did that with mine just to keep the slide from getting pounded and potentially crack. The old springs had clearly not been replaced, they were dramatically shorter than the replacements. If you’re gonna shoot these old girls, I think that step is a must. Replacement firing pins are everywhere, too.

My FFL requires the name of the trasferee to be on the outside of the box, or for the purchaser to provide the tracking number. Only then does he open the box in the purchaser's presence to prove that magazines didn't fall out of the box, weapons were not messed with or damaged. There are much closer FFLs to me, but I still drive far for this (among other) reasons. I KNOW my stuff comes as the seller sends it.
