Default Metal kit? Wood bleach? Hackberry?

I recently purchased a rack grade special at the southstore I want to replace the stock with something different. I wanted something very light like some of the beach kits I've seen or possibly a tiger striped Birch set to match my other Birch rifles. I did buy a birch set off of a member here but I'm also going to buy a unfinished wood set from DuPage Trading. I've used many of their stocks before and they usually have very beautiful grain I think they keep the best one for themselves and send the others that are not so fancy to CMP.

I've used wood bleach in the past on a Polytech m-14s stock made out of Chu wood to take a lot of the yellow out of it then refinished it to replicate Walnut and it turned out very nice I'm thinking of using bleach on the Walnut stock to try to get it even lighter so when I apply oil to it, I can try to keep it as light as possible.

Has anybody use wood bleach on Walnut with success? I'm using two part sodium hydroxide and hydrogen peroxide.

I'm also thinking about buying a Hackberry set from dupage and stripping it, their only $50 a set. Anyone know what Hackberry looks like without the painted on stain?

Also where is the best place to order a complete metal set for a stock?
