Default Jan 19 North Store Report

The wife and I drove 3 1/2 hours and arrived before the doors opened. One other gentleman besides us had the run of the store for at least the first 1 1/2 hours. I went home broke but with a very nice 03A3 Remington and a Post war still in the grease M1. Noted in the store were the following:
M1 Correct ($3000 ) 16
M1 Postwar Correct ($2000 collectors grade) 34
M1D Field Grade 9
M1D Service 13
M1C Field 21
RM1 Special 24
WR Special 9
M1D Rack 25
M1C Service 49
HRA Correct ($2000 collectors) 25
03a3 Smith 2
03A3 Remington 24
M1 Garand Drill 44 total
03A3 Drill 6
Also saw several air rifles, a few barrels and I believe some Carbine stocks.
Behind the counter they have the 200 and 240 round cans of ammo and Greek M1 bayonets for $68
Box each of leather slings and cloth web slings.
Sorry I didn't record all of the prices.
Regards,
Jim

I picked up a March 1955 Springfield M1 Garand Collector Grade. Tempting, but I couldn't do it, were the WWII era Collector grades.

What are they asking for the 03-A3 rifles and is there any price difference between Remington and Smith Corona?

Any speculation on the origin of all these correct and collector grades? Is CMP for some reason just blowing out these rifles rather than auctioning them off?
