On top of their skills in the games matches, these guys and a few others also help prove that M1s are still competitive rifles in the National Trophy Matches as well.

Williams made the cut in the NTI with a Garand last year. Bob Steketee has made the President's Hundred in recent memory. Joe Sopko even won the Farr Trophy with a Garand not long ago.

You can order yourself a CMP Garand and a copy of the NRA's old accurizing articles on the M1, and build yourself a rifle that you can earn the Distinguished Badge and President's Hundred with. It will take a lot of work, but it can be done if you're passionate about Garands.
