While looking for something else I tried a search on MANN at the Springfield Armory Museum site using the collection search function.
http://ww3.rediscov.com/spring/spring.htm

There are 29 hits. Some are just mentions of museum dispositions or of something called a Mann type tapered mount for telescopic sights but a number of Mann barrels are in the museum collection and documented.

A similar search of the Archival records shows a number of photographs some of which are accessiable on line.

Probably more information is available through the Advanced Search functions on the web site and may prove to be a valuable resource for Mann information.

I checked the records at the museum too and was really surprised to see so many good pictures, and all sorts of different barrels in use. Machine rests were huge affairs and look to be completely adjustable.
