A couple additions to this year – First off, we will have additional NRA 800 Agg. and Mid-Range Prone matches. We are also adding a CMP Vintage Sniper Team match. The big news is there is no entry fee on NRA matches for Juniors (NRA rule 2.3), and they will have free or reduced entry fees on the CMP matches.

Detailed match information can be found on Solon Sportsmen’s website
http://solonsportsmen.org/rifle-program/ (Vintage Sniper going up soon)

    Thanks,
    Tim

Solon is a nice range. Grass firing points that are plenty wide, big pit area so it is easy to move around in, carriers work smooth, targets are in good shape, you can drive to the pits, good range commands, and the club is easy to find.
To be objective, I wish they had a few range flags to help dope the wind. The range faces south while Perry is north so the sun will be in you other eye and shine on the wrong side of the front sight.
Even so, I have always had a great time shooting at Solon, good people over there.

I shot 2 matches there in September, 2013. I agree, very nice range.
Not so easy to find in the dark. (early morning type dark).

      Very well run matches.
Camp Perry is not "a place for experts". It's a place to help YOU become an expert.

Thanks for the compliments on the range and matches. We strive to run fun, enjoyable, safe and efficient matches, for both the novice and experienced shooters.

We have looked into additional range flag locations; however, putting them in useful locations (i.e. not on the range, and not in the woods) has been a challenge. On the upside, the range is great for getting a no wind zero.

Hey dnmccoy, come up to ARC http://www.alliancerifleclub.us/ and shoot XTC with us sometime. I did my M1 clinic at Solon and my AR15/XTC clinic at ZRC. Both are nice places with good people putting on well run clinics. Really glad to see Solon adding vintage sniper this year, can't wait .

Damn, that's a long haul. You must be on the south side of Columbus. It's about 1.5 hr to Columbus for me.

For those heading to our matches - if you take SR 307 from SR 11 to SR 193 to get to the range, SR 307 is CLOSED about half-way between 11 and 193. However, if you detour onto Tower Rd from SR 307, just before the closed section, you can take Tower Rd east until SR 193, and then turn south to Footville-Richmond Rd.
