Isn't that the early milled adjustable? Has the staking cut outs only on the rear.

Yes. I have two loose ones, an H.I. (Hemphill) and a PI (Packard). I also have at least one on an original (5 mil Inland).

I've seen them as early as 52440xx and as late as 54621xx. I have 5343942 and 5327618. I'm sure with enough reports, a serial number range could be made. Both of mine have the rectangular staking marks.

Thanks, Chris,
I'll check some of mine. WOW, so much to know about carbines.

I have HI milled sights with two cutouts at rear, HI with cutouts only on right side (front and rear), and HI with right and left cutout on rear and cutout on front left side. My only loose PI rear sight has cutouts on right side only, front and rear. I will have to look at my original 5.2 and 5.4 Inlands to see what they have.
