Default Eley CMP 22lr

Had a case of Aguila on back order from the CMP for several years. They have been slowing filling orders but no Aguila. Currently they are offering Eley, 1090fps claimed to be made exclusively for CMP by Eley. $355 per case (quite a bit more than the Aguila but that's not available any more from them).

Anyone have any experience with this new Eley CMP? It appears from the velocity to maybe be Eley Target.

Any thoughts?

I don't think they will be shipping Target.
I expect it will be Sport, or possibly Club.

Probably correct about maybe Eley Sport. It has the same MV as what the CMP is claiming for their Eley at 1090fps. Eley Club is 1085fps. Maybe the CMP can tell us what Eley brand it really is.

Can't find any comps on the Eley sport currently. $355 per case for the CMP Eley still seems like a good price.

Eley website shows the current version of it's Sport brand as being sold in US as Eley Target. http://www.eley.co.uk/eley-sport
I think the old Eley Sport (Purple Box) was made in Mexico and has been discontinued. Some folks said it was made by Aguila, I have no idea but it was a great practice round.

In the Gun Digest 2017 Shooters Guide there is a note about a new Eley Action 22LR ammo!
"The no frills ammo isn't just affordable, it's reliable , accurate and consistent from round to round. The 40 grain lead round-nose bullets have a muzzle velocity of 1090 fps." $6.99)

Judy from the CMP emailed a response to "what is the equivalent Eley product?". I was offered a case of this Eley from an old backorder of 22lr. I believe it was $359 for the case.

Her answer: This is a special 22lr round made EXCLUSIVEY (my emphasis) for CMP.

I passed on the ammo.

Shot some Friday, two Mossberg 44US Mil, 47 yrds 5/8 group, rec. sights--shot some at 26 yrds ragged hole from both rifles! Wind was a bit gusty also!! Good ammo!!
Was very pleased, especially since I'm headed for cataract surgery the end of this month!!
