Default M1 bayonet missing button

I recently picked up a AFH 10” M1 bayonet with scabbard that is missing the button. Is there anyway to repair or replace this? It is in great condition otherwise, besides being sharpened at some point. And it was at a price that I couldn’t pass up.

Thanks

Will the grips come off? That is the first step.

If the button is missing the spring will likely be too and possibly the catch. The parts are out there, but not in large quantities or super cheap. Used to be able to buy the demils but last time I saw one it was $50 for rusty junk from Northrige international. http://www.northridgeinc.com/product-p/bay-102.htm

Thanks. That video had good info. I’ll try to get the handles off and see what I’m dealing with and hope to find some parts.

We used to buy those cut down to M5 size Korean bayonets just to get the grips and internal parts. They were $7 to 9.00 then.
