Default Who wants to take a guess what this piece of gear this is?

Found what seems to be Mr. Powers WW2 gear at a resale shop. The belt looks like 1944 date, Acme ammo can, the package on the right is dated 1943. I'm not sure if everyone....or no one will know what the contents of the package opened up in the last pic are. I will post a pic up of it in use after some have a go at what it is.

Petera is correct. Personal protective “tent” for chemical attack. Geez, we kids played with these things in the 1950s. Seems everyone’s dad brought more than one home...

I had one of those "anti-gas capes"...got it new in wrap,
on summer vacation jaunt into an Army-Navy store in Mass,
back in late Sixties.

The funny thing is, that web belt looks like a dead ringer
for the one I had as a wee-Boy Scout, back in the Sixties.
I can't recollect where my belt came from. It mighta been
the real deal.

Would be pretty cool if it had belonged to Darrell Powers?
