Welcome from Yorktown. Bit of history this way as well. Please be a Garand shooter not a hoarder! Couple of N/S Skirmishers down here too.

And echo the SHOOT comment. I just rewarded my recently UVA-graduated nephew a SG HRA and spent the weekend shooting ours and now he's hooked, too.
I remember Haymarket. Specifically the old mill along the highway. Was sad to see it get burnt out. Was man-caused if I recall correctly.

You are correct, Sandy, in 1998. They've done a lot to stabilize it and improve the area.

Let me know if you are down in York County. We are at the Lafayette Gun Club.

Check out Fairfax Rod and Gun club in Manassas. OPEN shoots on 3rd Saturday of each month for nominal fee to all shooters. On 200 yard range and shoot what ya want caliber wise in format to be shot. Normally a 400 to 800 ag with Standing, Rapid Sitting, Prone and Rapid prone. Reduced targets for 300 and 600 (Prone) IF YOU WANT.

Then there is Quantico Shooting Club.....they shoot 100 to 600 yards. HOT place but....fun to shoot the REAL distances.
